Charity Rides My Bike Shop 2010 RE.Net Challenge

4/6/2010 That last link in the header above? That is my workout log/goal tracker for the month of April. A few folks in the real estate space have decided to challenge each other to improve fitness after a long winter of too many conferences. Currently I am alternating between outside on the road, or, if my schedule does not permit, down in the basement on the trainer. Either way, it’s miles to go and lbs to lose.

Road biking is one of the activities I most enjoy. There is nothing quite like the feel of
riding down the road, a slight tailwind, big ring, just being in the zone. Or finishing that 1st century ride of the year or just riding with friends to a coffee shop or ice cream store. The link below will take you to a schedule of club rides and events throughout 2009 in Illinois. See you on the road! BTW, I do always wear a helmet – I have cracked 2 in the last 8 years on endo’s – it happens to everyone eventually. My brain is scrambled enough.
I am looking forward to the 2009 riding season as I missed most of last year having the ankle parts replaced – again. (wonders if he should post that pic).

This picture was taken 7/1/08 at the top of Independance Pass, CO during Ride The Rockies, a week long , 440 mile event my son, Eric, and I did together – by together I mean we started together and then met at the end of the day for dinner. Everyone riding to their own ability makes for a much more enjoyable ride. We crossed the Continental Divide twice. I also learned what was the slowest speed I could go and still stay upright. (any guesses – reply below)

The Sun would like to run photos of you on your bicycle for the new Our Recreation page. Please send them to hpfundstein@scn1.com. Make sure to tell me where they were taken, who is pictured, etc. I’m an avid cyclist, too, and know many residents love to ride their bikes.
Will do! Thanks for the interest.
