Here is a little different twist – Help support our community! Navistar, currently headquartered in Warrenville, Il has been exploring alternatives to the Lisle site (former AT&T building on Warrenville Rd) because of the noise raised by a small group of protesters. Navistar has done a lot of work to alleviate those concerns and has extended their timeline with the seller to attempt to reach agreement with concerned stakeholders.

If they leave the area, think of the impact on ours and surrounding communities in terms of housing sales, sales tax revenue, and jobs. Get in touch with your elected officials and let them know we want them to stay. Join the Facebook group(s) to show your support and to keep up to date.

The Naperville Jaycees LAST FLING is a community festival that gives you one last chance to let loose, have fun and end the summer with a bang! Hosted over Labor Day weekend, the Last Fling runs Friday September 3rd thru Monday September 6, 2010.

General Information

The Main Stage is at Rotary Hill (just off of Aurora Avenue) opens one hour before the first band plays.  Tickets for the Main Stage are specific to each night and are only good for the date indicated on the ticket.

Ticket prices include ALL SHOWS for that evening. Children 11 and under are eligible for a FREE ticket, which can be picked up at the top of Rotary Hill at the ticket booths the day of the concert.   Children 11 and under must have a ticket and be accompanied by an admission paid adult.  Children tickets are necessary for counting purposes to determine the overall capacity on the Rotary Hill.

Seating

All seating is general admission “lawn” style seating on Rotary Hill.  Although lawn chairs are allowed, it is preferred that they do not have a canopy. Blankets are allowed, but cannot exceed 10’ x 10′.  Seating is first come, first serve.

Wheelchair-accessible and companion seating (an approximate 25’ x 25’ area) will be available for people with disabilities and one companion. Seating is on a first come first serve basis and will be located at the Northwest corner of the Rotary Hill.  The handicap accessible entrance/exit on the Rotary Hill will be the emergency exit located along the east side of the Rotary Hill, near the Jaycee Rooster Beer tent. Properly trained service animals are welcome.

Prohibited Items

No audio or video recording devices shall be allowed at the main concert stage.  Cameras may be restricted due to contractual agreements with the booked entertainers.

For your safety…NO GRILLS, PETS, OUTSIDE FOOD, OUTSIDE BEVERAGES, COOLERS, BOTTLES, CANS OR ALCOHOL IN ANY CONTAINER may be brought to the Last Fling or on Rotary Hill. Thank you for helping make this event a safe for everyone!!

Adopt-a-thon

The Naperville Area Humane Society will host its annual Adopt-A-Thon from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 28 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 29 at the Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Number 91 – Naperville Trolley Tours

Learn about old Naperville, and see the new Naperville!  This one-hour Historic Tour of Naperville blends the past with the present, highlights Naperville’s growth, and includes some fun stories!  The Tour includes Naperville’s Historic District, North Central College, charming downtown businesses and shopping areas, state-of-the-art police and fire stations, the scenic Riverwalk, Naper Settlement, Centennial Beach, and more!

All tours are one hour.   All tours start and end on Jackson Avenue at Eagle Street. Reservations are requested as the tours do sell out. No strollers.

Number 90 – Final Millennium Carillon Concert

Attend a carillon concert at Rotary Park this Tuesday evening. It is the final concert of the season and features Tin-Shi Tam of Ames, IA as the guest artist.

When: Tuesday August 24, 2010 @ 7:00pm

Where: 210 Aurora Road (Google Map). Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and set up at the base of Moser Tower and the Millennium Carillon at Rotary Hill.
